Welcome to Padichat

A space built for immigrants and diaspora communities to talk honestly about life abroad, the good parts, the hard parts, and everything in between.

Because the truth is, nobody really talks enough about how strange life abroad can feel.

You prayed for the visa.
Worked hard for the admission.
Spent months preparing documents.
Told everybody, “This is the big move.”

Then you land.

At first, everything feels exciting.

New city.
New people.
New opportunities.

You’re smiling.
Taking airport pictures.
Sending “I don reach” messages.
Calling home with excitement.

Then real life starts.

Rent is higher than expected.
Groceries humble you quickly.
Work feels different.
People are polite… but distant.

Family back home thinks you’ve made it.

Meanwhile you’re checking your account balance before buying basic things and wondering how one quick grocery run somehow became expensive.

Then there’s the part nobody really posts.

Missing weddings.
Missing birthdays.
Watching people back home continue life without you.

Calling home and hearing:
“When are you even coming back?”

Then you start explaining this and that while still being grateful.

Some days feel very heavy.

Some days you miss home more than expected.

Some days you feel caught between two worlds.

Too abroad when you go home.
Too foreign where you live now.

And somehow…

You still wake up.
Still push.
Still adapt.
Still figure things out one day at a time.

That quiet resilience immigrants carry every day deserves more respect than it gets.

And that’s exactly why Padichat exists.

A place to ask questions.
Share experiences.
Celebrate wins.
Vent when life feels frustrating.
Laugh about the things only immigrants understand.
Connect with people who genuinely get it.

No pressure.
No pretending.
No fake “soft life.”

Just real people.
Real conversations.
Real experiences.

Whether you’re planning your move, newly abroad, figuring things out, or years into your journey, you belong here.

Welcome to Padichat.

Let’s talk about it.

Oh wow! you're doing the lords work. I've been looking for a community like this, where I can share and learn from others.
